# Premium

> better tickets premium pricing.

better tickets has three tiers, **Free**, **Plus**, and **Max**. Upgrading raises limits and unlocks a handful of fields that are otherwise locke. It never removes functionality, and downgrading never deletes anything you've already configured (see the [FAQ](/docs/faq#what-happens-to-a-category-thats-over-the-tier-limit) for exactly what happens to a category over its new limit).

**Activating premium**:
To activate or switch premium, use `/premium activate` command to switch or activate a premium in a guild the bot is in.

<Note>
  "Premium" fields (like channel name templates) unlock on **either** Plus or Max. `/bot` is the one **Max-only** field. Plus isn't enough for that specific one. See the [FAQ](/docs/faq#what-do-the-premium-tiers-change) for how every other field is labeled.
</Note>

## Which tier do I need?

* **Free** is enough if you're running a single support category, maybe one application category and a small staff team.
* **Plus** makes sense once you're splitting tickets across a few categories (support, reports, appeals) or want your ticket channels and application messages to actually match your server's branding.
* **Max** is for servers running tickets and applications at scale the largest teams, the most categories, and full control over the bot's per-server identity with `/bot`.

Nothing is locked in. See [What happens to a category that's over the tier limit?](/docs/faq#what-happens-to-a-category-thats-over-the-tier-limit) if you're deciding whether to downgrade later.
