Server configuration commands

You can change most Better Tickets settings without leaving Discord using /config, or all of them in the web dashboard. Both need Manage Server (or being the server owner), and both check settings the same way.

/config

CommandWhat it opens
/config ticket panel:<name>A ticket panel: basics, roles, channels, messages, questions, closing, automation
/config application form:<name>An application form: basics, roles, channels, questions, messages and decision form
/config jailYour jail: jail roles, staff, rejoin and role handling, channels. Also creates or deletes it
/config levelingLeveling: XP, level-up messages, restrictions, rank card
/config roleplayRoleplay commands: who can use them and the message
/config staffStaff Hub: alerts, weekly report, strikes and leave (Plus or Max)

The panel and form names autocomplete. Each command posts a settings message in the channel:

  • Every setting shows its current value and what it does, with its control right below it.
  • Turn settings on or off by picking Enable or Disable.
  • Pick roles and channels from the menus, which show what's set now.
  • Edit text and numbers with Edit, which opens a form of up to five fields. Leave a text field empty to go back to the default.
  • Switch sections from the menu at the bottom.

Only the person who ran the command can use its menus and buttons. Changes save straight away, are checked against your plan's limits, and appear in the dashboard's Logs page.

Questions

The Questions section of a ticket panel or application form lists its questions, five per page. Use Edit next to a question, Add question, or Delete a question, which asks you to confirm. The form sets the question, an optional description, the answer type and whether it's required, the minimum and maximum (like 1-100), and menu options or file types, one per line.

Creating and deleting

  • Ticket panels: /ticket create and /ticket delete.
  • Application forms: /application create and /application delete.
  • Jail: run /config jail. With no jail, it shows Create jail. With one, Delete jail asks you to confirm first. Members who are jailed stay jailed, and /unjail still gives them their roles back.

Names can be up to 30 characters, and can't contain line breaks, backslashes or other special characters.

A few things stay on the dashboard because they don't fit in a Discord menu: support hours, channel permission overrides, per-button role rules, level rewards and multipliers, auto-jail triggers and Staff Hub ranks. Each section with one of these links to the dashboard.

If your server's premium ends, panels and forms over the free limit show as inactive, role lists longer than the free limit show which roles still apply, and settings that need premium are locked until you renew. Nothing is deleted.

/bot Max only

Changes the bot's nickname, bio, avatar and banner in your server only, without affecting any other server. Needs Max premium.

nicknamestring

Up to 32 characters.

biostring

Up to 190 characters. Use {nl} for a line break.

avatarattachment

Server-specific avatar image.

bannerattachment

Server-specific banner image.

Only set the options you want to change; the rest keep their current value. For example, /bot nickname:Ticket Desk bio:Support requests handled here{nl}Open one with /open renames the bot to Ticket Desk with a two-line bio in your server only.

After a successful edit, /bot has a 150-second cooldown.

/help

Lists the bot's commands, grouped by module.

/ping

Shows the bot's current latency to Discord. Useful for checking whether a slow response is on Discord's side.
