A Discord applications and forms bot collects structured answers from members without leaving Discord: staff recruitment, partnership requests, event sign-ups, appeals, anything with a set of questions and a yes-or-no decision. Better Tickets is a free Discord bot with application forms built in, alongside tickets, jail and leveling. This page compares a forms bot with Discord's own pop-up forms and with Google Forms.

What you can run with forms
- Staff recruitment, with reviewer roles and roles given on acceptance. See how to set up staff applications.
- Partnership requests, reviewed by your partnership team.
- Event sign-ups, with a role given to everyone accepted.
- Ban appeals, so banned members have a fair route back. See Discord ban appeals.
How forms work in Better Tickets
Create a form
In the dashboard, open Applications → Forms & panels, create a form, choose who reviews it and the private channel submissions go to.
Add questions
Give each question a label, a type (text or select menu) and whether it's required. Members get a review screen before they submit, with a menu to jump back to any answer.
Publish the panel
Click Publish panel to post an Apply button in a channel. Members click it and answer in their DMs.
Review submissions
Staff accept or deny each submission with a button, with an optional reason. Roles are given or removed automatically, and the member is told the result.
When to pick a dedicated application bot
If applications are the only thing you need and you want extras like staff polls on each applicant, a dedicated application bot such as Appy may suit you better. Staff application bots compared goes through the differences honestly.
Set up your first form with the applications docs, or add Better Tickets to your server.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Discord applications and forms bot?
A bot that collects structured answers from members inside Discord. A member clicks Apply, answers your questions, and the answers are posted to a private channel where staff accept or deny them, often with roles given automatically.
Why not use Discord's pop-up forms?
Discord's pop-up forms (modals) fit at most five fields. A forms bot that asks questions one at a time in DMs isn't limited to five, and can use select menus as well as text.
Can I use one bot for more than staff applications?
Yes. In Better Tickets each application category is its own form, so you can run staff recruitment, partnership requests and event sign-ups side by side, each with its own questions, reviewers and roles.
How many questions can a form have?
In Better Tickets, up to 11 questions per form on the free plan, 15 on Plus and 21 on Max.
Is Google Forms good enough?
For a small server that only collects answers occasionally, yes. But it can't check a member's roles, stop repeat submissions, or give roles when someone is accepted, so a bot is easier once forms become regular.
